BIM chapter 1 (Part 2) - Origins of BIM

The architect Phil Bernstein, a consultant with Autodesk, was the first to use the term BIM"building information modeling." Jerry Laiserin would have helped to popularize andstandardize the term, as the common name for the digital representation of the construction process, previously proposed by the companies Graphisoft, Bentley Systems and Autodesk to facilitate information exchange and to interoperabilities digital format. In agreement with this and other, the first implementation was done in BIMsoftware ArchiCAD 1987 by the Hungarian company Graphisoft, with its advanced concept of the virtual building.
